Trust in Him

As I was reading Derek Prince's "The Gifts of the Spirit" yesterday, I read Mark 8:22-26 where Jesus had to take the blind man out of the town in order to heal him, telling him not to go back, or tell anyone from the town what had happened.

Prince goes on to explain that there was such an atmosphere of unbelief there that the man never believed he could be healed, because no one else believed it. He states that, "Sometimes, the hardest people to have faith in front of you are your relatives".

The blind man would never have been healed if he'd stayed in that town, amongst his unbelieving friends and family. He had to trust in Jesus,  having faith that He would provide, and that he would be restored.  Even after receiving the healing, if he'd returned to that place, he would have reverted straight back into blindness and unbelief.

This is a message to all of us. It's not just about having faith in the short-term, in order for the healing or miracle to happen, we must have constant faith. We must be thankful, constantly giving God the glory He deserves.

Sometimes we need to step out of our comfort zones; the places we feel safe. We must put our faith in God. Flesh and blood will fade away; God is eternal! It can be so difficult but if we make that very first step of faith, He will do the rest. He will encourage, bless and sustain us.

If we are obedient to God's will and put him first in our lives, He will respond. He'll see our passion and hunger, and He will bless it. Now, I'm not for a moment suggesting that we all go and move away from our families, but we must be receptive to whatever He wants from us, and be willing to obey and trust in Him. Just look at Abraham and Isaac!

We are His children and He will never ask us to do anything we are incapable of. He knows our capabilities and limitations and He will give us opportunities, but never make demands. I don't know about you, but I wouldn't reject an opportunity from the Lord God Almighty, Himself!

If we won't step out in faith, our situation will remain the same. We can't expect healings, miracles or any other blessings if we stay where we are and refuse to move.

Our closest friends and family members may only want the best for us, but sometimes their best ideas and plans don't equate to God's.  It's time to grow up; to stand up and decide. Whose plan will you follow?
